We are Dugg and Kristen Steary.

In 2015, we decided that our dream to sail around the world should become a reality. We began downsizing a house full of stuff, completed numerous sailing courses, started gaining offshore sailing experience and moved to the Pacific coast of Canada and full-time onto a catamaran sailboat.

After spending several years sailing the Pacific Northwest, updating our catamaran, and learning new skills, we continued the passage planning and departed in 2026.

Our Backstory

Short Version: Married, large house (probably too large), two kids, two cars, and stuff – working as educators and paramedics and trying to stay happy and healthy between vacation periods controlled by others.

We happily sold our home and almost everything we owned. Moved from London, Canada, to Vancouver, Canada. Bought a Fountaine Pajot Lavezzi in Martinique and sailed it through the Caribbean back to Canada during COVID-19, where we spent 5 years getting the boat ready for a passage around the world.
